Get to Know Kathleen
An experienced teaching artist, administrator, and passionate champion of Higley schools.
I have been a professional theater artist for over 20 years.
I currently volunteer with the HTA Drama Club, and have been recognized by our district for volunteer service at both HTA and Cooley ECDC.
I have lived in Gilbert since 2016 with my husband and 2 children, both of whom attend HUSD schools.
I currently serve as a substitute teacher through ESI and have worked in education for over a decade.
In addition to working in the arts and education spaces, I spent several years in professional fundraising from both grants and individuals.
I am an ASU Gammage Teaching Artist trained in the Kennedy Center Arts-Integration Method.
Why am I Running for the Governing Board?
Because our students deserve the best possible education
Because retaining the best teachers is a top priority
Because maintaining academic excellence requires intention
Because a vocal minority should not be able to drown out the voices of the rest of our community
Because I believe that involved parents can make a difference
Because I believe that success comes from community and teamwork
